The Heart of Kent Hospice held its second ‘It’s a Knockout’ event over the weekend of 20-21st May. This was a busy May for the Hospice fundraising team. The Rainbow run had been held the previous weekend already. I have to say that these two events are probably my favourite to shoot. Everyone who takes part in these events always seem to have an amazing time and great fun. It’s a bit different to some of the other events where people have to work a bit harder at running or cycling for example. All that being said, I think that ‘It’s a Knockout’ is my absolute favourite.
The event is superbly run by the George Fisher company. They have great banter and fun with all the teams. It’s hard to describe all the fun that goes on without turning this blog post into a bit of an essay! There’s lots of soapy water involved and lots of inflatable obstacles. Throw in a bit of sunshine and a sprinkle of dressing up and you have a fantastic event. Hopefully the photos will show some of the excitement and give you an idea of what goes on.
I heartily recommend that you get together with a group of friends and sign up quick for this event if it is run again next year. There are a number of different games that the teams play. The highlight that everyone gets to have a go at is called the Jungle Run. This is the biggest inflatable in the arena and must e about 20 metres long. At one end is a splash pool which the participants generally fall into when they make the return trip to their team mates. I plant myself at this end of the inflatable to try and get some great action photos. The event team describe this water as ‘almost’ tropical. The expressions on everyone’s faces tell the true story!
I hope you like the photos that have been included here. The full set are available on the website. If you like the photos and download them then please remember that the Hospice rely on your donations to be able to support and care for their patients. Please text ‘PICT17 £5’ to donate to the Hospice.
I look forward to seeing a whole bunch of new teams at next year’s event. I can’t wait! See all the photos on the Shooterz website.
